Today, Detectives from the Eastern District Strategic Patrol Team participated in the Rippling Woods Elementary School Field Day festivities. Everyone had a wonderful time, and the water activities were especially popular, helping to beat the heat. Detectives Rohe and Callahan even joined the fun by taking a turn on the water slide.

𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐃𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐮𝐥𝐭 𝐀𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 - 𝐆𝐥𝐞𝐧 𝐁𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐞 𝟐𝟔-𝟕𝟏𝟖𝟏𝟖𝟕 On June 10, 2026, at approximately 8:10 p.m., officers responded to the 7000 block of Ritchie Highway for an assault. When officers arrived, they observed an individual providing CPR for an unresponsive 59-year-old male. The victim was transported to an area hospital with a life-threatening injury. Witnesses reported the victim pulled into the parking lot in his vehicle, followed by the suspect in a separate vehicle. Both males began arguing. During the altercation, the suspect struck the adult male victim in the head with a tire iron and then fled in his vehicle. Based on vehicle information provided by witnesses, officers were able to locate the suspect with the assistance of the Anne Arundel County Police Real Time Information Center. The suspect was arrested and charged. Detectives assigned to the Northern District will continue to investigate the circumstances leading to the assault. 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝗡𝗼𝗻-𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗰𝘁) - 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟲-𝟳𝟭𝟳𝟳𝟭𝟮 On June 6, 2026, at approximately 6:05 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 7800 block of Arbor Grove Drive, Hanover, for a report of damage caused by a fired projectile. Officers met with the victim, who stated they heard a gunshot and then noticed a hole in their ceiling and a projectile lodged in a book on a television stand. Officers canvassed the neighborhood; however, they did not locate any suspects or additional witnesses. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident. No injuries were reported; however, one vehicle was struck by the projectile. A huge thank you to the Arundel Rivers Federation for their tireless work at our Southern District Station! Today, we held a green ribbon cutting to celebrate the completion of a vital restoration project. Stormwater issues caused by a defunct concrete helipad and filled-in rain gardens led to water ponding and safety issues. Arundel Rivers led the effort, which included excavation, restoration, and native planting. We are proud to partner with organizations committed to improving our environment and ensuring our facilities are the best they can be.
