It’s a common trick in infotainment to include some small inaccuracy — just something a tiny bit…*off*. Because it gives your audience something to correct you about.

Oh no! Did @hclib lose its account with @oed, like, in the last hour? I was reading up on the etymology of "feisty" (it's a fun one) and then access just stopped. Now hennepin county library isn't an option to sign in with. Hope it's a glitch. 🙏

Alright, this is weird, @hclib & @OED ... I'm able to access the full info for some words like "run," "dictionary," and "floccinaucinihilipilification," but not other words like "feisty" or "tintinnabulation" or about 6 more that I tested.
