The first ever show at The Koi was a success! Thank you to everyone who hung out with us last night biggest thank you to Lavender Koi Yoga for hosting and being so welcoming! Thirteen Horses and My Cousin’s Gf’s House both ripped. Here’s a little bit of us with Empty Hearts 💔
You WILL unfortunately look like me in this pic if you don’t take air conditioned shelter from the heat and humidity at our show at Lavendar Koi Yoga in Berlin NJ tomorrow. Doors at 6, Music 7-9:30! BYO food and drink!
Yeah sure it’s cool that we’re playing a show Saturday but I personally think it’s even cooler that we’re grouping up in a basement and working on new music on Sunday.
ok imagine as soon as the banana costume hit the floor you see larry curly and moe headed straight for it and they’re carrying a bunch of glass expensive shit oh my god what a mess that would be everyone let’s all just be glad that didn’t happen
Banana Guy incident reminds me of this one time in college I was at a Halloween party sitting with friends on the stairs of our track team’s party house. Front door BURSTS open. One of our throwers (huge dude) steps in dressed in a hot dog suit and goes “haha I’m a fuckin weiner”
Also we have a show this Saturday at Lavendar Koi Yoga studio in Berlin and then another one in Philly on 8/1 that we're stoked to announce soon and that's our band's summer schedule atm, so hope to see you at one or the other!
If these songs we’re working on make it to the studio they will be our band’s 29th, 30th, and 31st songs and unfortunately most of the shows we play we only have time for 7-8 of them in a set
So far in our demo folder we have:
• A song that has metalcore riff verses and huge TSSF-ish choruses
• A radio rock-ish song (i.e. Arctic Monkeys or The Strokes) with an oldschool heavy-metal breakdown in it
• Creep by Radiohead mixed with Princess Peach by Hot Mulligan
Ngl I got most of my pieces of these done when I was taking a social media break and felt a shitton of creative headspace come FLOWING back during that time and that said I think we’re gonna be super inactive online for a while aside from making sure y’all know when our shows are
Let it be known that this week I’ll be sending a scratch track of a new song to Joe to write a drum part for, and next week Dev’s coming over to demo a separate song. We spent all day Saturday writing and even if it takes a while we do have new stuff in the tank.
We’ll likely be booking less shows this year in favor of creating our next record. It’s hard to get all 4 of us together in a room for a show in general but writing in a room together from scratch has been so much better for us vs. sending audio files back and forth over weeks.
