"I hereby fully authorize the toll free opening of the Strait of Hormuz, and, simultaneously herewith, authorize the immediate removal of the United States Naval blockade. Ships of the World, start your engines."
“Unlike past mergers such as Comcast's 2011 takeover of NBCUniversal, this one comes with no reported strings attached, as the government did not impose any divestitures, behavioral remedies, or concessions after its review.
Axios reported last Tuesday that Bari Weiss, the editor-in-chief of CBS News, would likely oversee editorial decisions at CNN as well, once the merger is completed. Puck, which first broke the news of Weiss’ hiring at Paramount in July 2025, reported that David Ellison was “smitten by Bari's unwavering support of Israel and preoccupation with the rise of antisemitism.”

Why all the reports of Trump--Netanyahu "friction"? Their interests do diverge and the friction isn't entirely fabricated, but Trump promotes this narrative to maintain Iran's willingness to negotiate with him. Can't work forever though.

"It will take time for the American imperial project to disappear for good, but from this point, U.S. retrenchment is inevitable," Director of Military Analysis @jekavanagh argues in @amconmag. theamericanconservative.com/…
What seems to have happened is that Trump decided he needed to revive a draft agreement that he had previously rejected, but he attacked Iran on two consecutive evenings to make it seem like Iran was capitulating by signing this agreement, which it had already agreed to.
