Due to the advocacy of Hickory Flat Elementary Mental Health and Wellness Facilitator Dr. Shamira Webb, Gov. Brian Kemp recently signed a first-of-its-kind proclamation designating November as Educator Mental Health Awareness Month across Georgia. Earlier this week, Dr. Webb led a wellness session for teachers and staff at HFE, where she was celebrated by district leaders, Principal Dr. Dawn Blackwell, and her colleagues. School counselors, social workers, Mental Health and Wellness Facilitators, and school psychologists are available in all schools for students and staff. School counselors and social workers can provide referrals to outside mental health clinicians for more intensive ongoing therapeutic services. The Georgia Crisis and Access Line (1-800-715-4225) and 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline are free resources available 24/7 to assist families experiencing a behavioral or mental health crisis. Tune in for a real treat! We had 4 Ss leave today, and AP Dr. Staten-Daniels had a few words for each of them. We are intentional about walking the walk and speaking Life into our babies. We have them for a very short time, so we understand that building them up is critical! 💜💛
