Today, we thanked Regent Jadyn Fisher for her two years of service to Arizona's public universities. As a regent, she championed student success and wellbeing – leading listening sessions on mental health and substance misuse and engaging with student leaders at our universities. The work she began as a student regent will have lasting impact.

Superintendent Shelli Boggs is proud to share what's happening inside Maricopa County's Durango Juvenile Detention Center. 🎓 Through a partnership with Arizona State University's Universal Learner Courses, 54 young people at Durango have completed 192 college courses since the program launched in October 2024. Seven are now eligible for Earned Admission into ASU — and one may begin classes this fall. For many of these students, college was never part of the picture. Some had left school. Some had never imagined themselves in a classroom at all. But inside Durango, they're earning credits, building their GPAs, and proving — to themselves and to the people who love them — that one chapter doesn't define the whole story. As one student put it: "Nothing can stop you from getting your education, and no one can take away your education." Education opens doors that stay open. We're grateful to ASU Learning Enterprise for partnering with us to make sure every young person knows that door is theirs to walk through. 📚 Produced in partnership with ASU Learning Enterprise and the Office of the Maricopa County School Superintendent. #DurangoDetention #ASU #MCSSO #HigherEducation #SecondChances #CollegeAccess ow.ly/5zLm50Z9GEM
