For space history buffs or those of you who remember, think of this added flight like Apollo IX. An opportunity to test lunar systems in orbit before taking them to the Moon. 🌖 Looking forward to the crew selection.
T-3 Days until we meet the crew of Artemis III! 🚀 bit.ly/43bBfqL NASA will reveal the Artemis III crew on Tuesday, June 9. The mission will launch four astronauts from Kennedy Space Center and test critical rendezvous and docking capabilities between Orion and commercial human landing systems. Be part of the excitement in the Rocket Garden and experience the NASA story!

A blast from my @AP past. My favorite sports journalist @richeisen is teasing a @SportsCenter documentary when I see an @AP_ENPS screen on the promo. I did the initial demos and managed the installation. Yes, it was #ENPS at #ESPN. Terrific memories. And Rich, it’s a great series.

All personnel are accounted for and safe. It’s too early to know the root cause but we’re already working to find it. Very rough day, but we’ll rebuild whatever needs rebuilding and get back to flying. It’s worth it.

My thoughts are with the @blueorigin team tonight. Grateful there were no injuries. This is exactly why you test on the ground — to find the failures here so they never happen in flight. Spaceflight is built on pushing systems, and if something breaks, learn from it, fix it, and fly again. The team will do exactly that. It’s what explorers do.
Here's our video of the explosion at Launch Complex 36. It happened about 9 pm ET (0100 UTC) as Blue Origin was beginning a static fire test of its New Glenn rocket. Watch live views: youtube.com/watch?v=thfYPsRq…

On her 75th birthday, we remember Dr. Sally Ride, the first American woman in space! At the age of 32, this physicist and astronaut launched aboard Challenger in June 1983 for her first of two space missions. Her example inspired generations to reach for the stars. ✨

The first of three @NASAMoonBase missions will be the @BlueOrigin Mark I Endurance lander, set to launch NET Fall 2026. @NASAAdmin Isaacman describes how this mission will send scientific payloads to the lunar South Pole region and reduce risk for future astronaut explorers.

This Memorial Day, we honor the Americans who gave their lives in service to our nation. Their courage and sacrifice helped secure the freedoms that make exploration, discovery, and progress possible. As we push farther into the skies and beyond, we carry forward their legacy of service, commitment, and belief in something greater than themselves.

Sometimes you don’t find the best ideas unless you ask for them. It will be fun to see the ideas. I’ll miss building on what comes forward into the next historic multimedia opportunity. But I left a talented team to carry on. I watch with both excitement and pride.

Just awesome views.
POV: You’re coming home after a journey around the Moon. 🌕 Before reentering Earth’s atmosphere at the end of Artemis II, the Orion spacecraft’s crew module — carrying the astronauts — separated from the service module that provided propulsion and power throughout the mission.

I was saddened to hear of Ted Turner’s passing. In an unexpected way, he played a pivotal role in my career. When the CNN founder bought Satellite News Channel (remember that?) to shut it down. I suddenly found myself out of a job. At the time, it was a hard blow, but it forced me to rethink my path and lean on the support of colleagues and friends until WSMV called with an opportunity to come home. Life has a way of turning disruption into direction. My condolences to Ted’s family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.

The CEOs (and Administrators) get all the fun videos.
Cool video of New Glenn’s fairing re-entry. For this flight we installed an exo-atmospheric reaction control system (RCS) in the fairing to control re-entry and enable recovery of the fairing. We’re planning a parachute recovery later this year, and the data from these fairings gives us the learnings needed to develop and refine that capability.

The National Cathedral in LEGO, including the famous Space Window. Fortunately, the real thing is close by for reference. No touching.🤣
