Today, on a very special edition of “A Numbers Game”…
The funny part is: she did hear my game breakdowns. Here’s the not safe for air version of my horrible date from last week:
I booked a reservation for Barry’s at 8:00 and sent $200 for her to get her nails done. It’s a first date, I wanted to make it special.
She doesn’t text me her address to pick her up until after 8:00…..and it was the wrong address. Took me to probably the most rough looking apartment complex I’d seen in Vegas, and that’s saying something.
Hey actual address was 20 minutes away in a huge complex, and she didn’t know her building number, so it was another 30 minutes on that goose chase.
She never got her nails done and was essentially expecting to go to a steakhouse in a tank top two sizes too small and spandex shorts. So I reverse course to go to Herbs & Rye.
We had a drink and everything was going fine…….until she essentially passes out at the table. She never told me she was on medication so mixing that with a drink leads to a disaster. After being almost unable to stand in the restaurant, I drive her home, and she sleeps in my care for about two and a half hours. I’m quite literally needing to check her pulse to see if I need to call the ER or not.
While she slept it off, I was listening back to my podcasts since we are now past midnight to make sure they uploaded, and got a jump start on the groundwork for evaluating the offseason moves of the America East…..need to get those conference preview podcasts rolling.
She finally wakes up, I make sure her relatives are at home, and on her way into her house, I felt something leak onto my shoes. Neither of us had a bottle of water in hand…..it was other fluids, I’ll leave it at that.
I was even kind enough to give three separate chances to reschedule for date two to give a second chance, flaked on all three.
So if you think you had a recent awful date, I hope this makes you feel better!
