Then we moved from @loom to @cap since Loom wants insane money for basic screen recording. $24/month/user where Cap is cleaner, significantly less expensive, and has all the same AI features as Loom did. Plus the founder is actually responsive.

@cap Is a beautiful piece of software. So much better than @loom since the acquisition by @Atlassian, it's is just getting worse and worse, full of blotware. Also appreciate that Cap is open source. Highly recommend this to everyone.

whilst in SF I’ve purchased a MacBook Neo for testing this little thing is surprisingly powerful! pleased to say that the next version of @Cap runs *smoothly* on a A18 Pro chip with 8gb RAM. lots of new optimisations unlocked.

Paying for Loom to record simple videos always irked me I recently discovered Cap - an open-source alternative, and it's really good for simple screen capture stuff light editing runs entirely locally!

we’re trying to smash recording and exporting bugs as much as possible. We hope we’re closer to this in v0.4.83 of @Cap, but if you can replicate a bug in recording (instant or studio mode), or in exporting, and you create a PR fixing it, I’ll send you $100-$300 depending on the severity. the goal is to make Cap feel bulletproof, and it’s going to be a monumental effort from lots of people, on lots of different variations of setups to do this. It’s really easy to get started locally. Just follow the instructions in our GitHub.
