"It was so great to see the reactions of kids receiving books as part of the Colorado READ Act. The research is really clear- when kids read more, they perform better in school! Plus- who doesn't love getting new books?" - Susana Cordova, Commissioner of Education

We have a new @CLEMetroSchools CEO for the Day! Introducing Reginald Hamilton III, a 6th grade scholar from Scranton Elementary who won this honor by being a Reading Champion! Reginald had the opportunity to shadow me, meet with elected leaders, do a TV interview, meet the OH State Principal of the Year (CMSD's own Amanda Rodriguez), and even closed out the The City Club of Cleveland forum. Speaking of the City Club forum, it was an honor to be on a panel with CMSD board Chair (@sara_not_sara_), 12th grade John Hay scholar Quincy Boyd, and Dr. Ray Hart of the Council of the Great City Schools. We were able to discuss the challenges our system is facing and the amazing opportunity we have through Building Brighter Futures! It was an incredible day! Thank you Cleveland Public Library for the continued partnership through the CEO for the Day program.

🎶 It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year 🎶 It has been an honor to go to all 29 @CLEMetroSchools HS graduations and speak at 28 of them over the course of a week. The schedule has been intense, but it was important to me to make it to every single CMSD graduation for the Class of 2026! This has been a year of significant change for our district and our scholars continue to achieve and be resilient through it all. In addition to giving every single CMSD 2026 graduate a laptop (thanks to PCs for People), we gave every graduate a $500 check, thanks to the genoristy of CMSD alum Mark Stepowoy. It has truly been a celebration this year! Graduates, remember the poem I shared with you "See It Through" and remain humble, give grace, work hard, and stay focused! We have just one more graduation in 2 weeks. #ProudCEO #BuildingBrighterFutures #CMSD

SY25-26 has come to a close and it was great to reflect on the wins from the year as well as the areas of improvement with my Executive Leadership Team as we prepare for SY26-27. Grateful to @FirstTeeCLE for hosting us. First Tee provides leadership development and golf lessons to all of our @CLEMetroSchools scholars and this facility used to be a CMSD High School. It shows what can happen when we reimagine some of our vacant properties. This year, we made changes to our district footprint in order to provide access to college, career, and enrichment programs to all CMSD students and improve our financial outlook given our current enrollment reality. Implementing Building Brighter Futures with excellence and delivering on this promise is a top priority for all of CMSD this upcoming year. Our theme for this past year was Level Up... stay tuned for the theme our district will have for SY 26-27! #BuildingBrighterFutures #CMSD
