Community Now's goal is a simple one: For inland Empire educators to take lead in building long term infrastructure and support for foster and at-risk youth in their schools.
As a community we will work together to shape our future while uplifting and centering the voices of our youth, of people of color and all those individuals who have experienced the trauma of broken systems. Red heart
"We acknowledge and uplift the fact that African American/Black Lives are impacted by a systematic legacy of racism that has been perpetuated for hundreds of years and we are committed to addressing and challenging racism and injustice wherever we encounter it" - Youth connection
Because of some outstanding statistics, for the past seven years, Community Now has been on the front line effectively counseling at-risk and foster youth in school districts throughout the Inland Empire. However, the moment has arrived to include educators in pushing for change.
I am proud of you regardless family❤️

Kindness does not cost you anything
Another friendly reminder:
Here at Community Now, we know and acknowledge that foster youth of all colors have experienced trauma and need additional support to succeed academically. Foster youth of color can benefit from additional support due to years of generational suppression. Contact us for support.

African American children represent 15% of open foster care cases and 17% of foster care placements in Riverside County. Most of these children do not know how to take care of their hair and feel insecure about their personal appearance and value.

This means children, who may already feel out of place and “different,” go to school embarrassed about their appearance and have no idea how to change it. This creates mental stress that can lower self-esteem, cause a sense of social isolation, self-hatred and other risk factors.
I hope you heal from the battles no one knew aboutRed heart
Community Now provides Trauma Informed Care training for organizations, schools and businesses. Participants learn to understand the impact of adverse childhood experiences in their lives and the lives of those they serve. Improve workplace climate and increase productivity.
Another friendly reminder to be easy on yourself today family❤
— Our Vision We are guided by a vision of a society that fosters early prevention; a place where our children are provided with the life skills and tools needed to be socially emotionally and academically strong.
— Our Story Community Now began in 2010 in Moreno Valley, Ca as a grassroots volunteer organization with the core philosophies’ it takes a village” and “see a need fill a need”. Community Now became a non-profit in 2013 and offers multiple programs supporting mental wellbeing.
By participating in campus-wide activities, students meet new people and spread their own positive attitudes to their peers and the faculty, thus creating a ripple effect across campus to improve the climate overall. Currently, 150 students are enrolled in the GET PLUGGED IN!!
