Reunited with our former consultants last night at the FDM Alumni Network Summer Social in London 🎉 Bringing everyone back together felt really special, from those who were with us until not too long ago to those who started their journey with FDM over 30 years ago. So many different stories and career paths all in one room. Great to reconnect and celebrate everything our alumni have gone on to achieve. Here’s to what’s next!

Nine squads. Nine challenges. Five hours to build a working product using agentic engineering 🚀 After our AI Hackathon in Hong Kong last month, we brought the concept to London for our first Promptathon, focused on showing what working with AI looks like in practice. Consultants, clients, and internal staff came together to work in mixed-skill squads and build AI agents that tackle real business problems. In just a few hours, they developed prototypes across areas like CV matching, structured data queries, sales enablement and risk analysis, all grounded in real-world use.

Come with us on the #CumbrianChallenge, an unforgettable adventure in support of our charity partner @supportthewalk! We took on three peaks across 27km, braving the weather and soaking in incredible views of the Lake District, all while raising money for a cause that’s close to our hearts. Walking With The Wounded supports veterans as they transition to civilian life, helping them overcome challenges around mental health, employment and social isolation. It was no piece of cake, but we made it! And this marks our biggest fundraising year to date 🎉

What does work look like as AI becomes part of everyday life? Our COO, @SheilaFlavell1, explored this at the #KingsAISummit at @KingsCollegeLon, alongside 200 leaders from across industry, policy and academia. A big part of the discussion focused on something simple but often overlooked. Not everyone is experiencing this shift in the same way. As AI becomes more widely used, differences in confidence, access and skills are starting to show. Without action, those gaps will only grow. At FDM, this is something we think about a lot. Creating opportunity has always been at the centre of what we do. We believe: 👉 Technology should expand opportunity, not restrict it 👉 Skills need to keep evolving and be open to everyone 👉 Inclusion should always be treated as a delivery priority Progress only matters if more people can move forward with it. 📸 Nathan Clarke Photography

The 13th year of the Cumbrian Challenge is officially done ✅ Three peaks, 223 teams, 942 participants and our biggest fundraising year to date, over £7K! Last weekend, we took to the hills in the Lake District to raise funds and awareness for @supportthewalk, a charity we've proudly partnered with for over a decade. Their incredible work helps veterans overcome mental health challenges, unemployment and social isolation as they transition to civilian life. A huge well done to everyone who took part!

“On my first day with the client, it was their quarterly planning session. By day five, I was presenting my team’s plan for the quarter.” Our She Lives Tech Spotlight shines a light on the incredible women leading the way in tech. Today, we're celebrating Ajantha Raju and her inspiring journey 🌟 After taking a career break to be a full-time mum, Ajantha returned to the workforce through our Returners Programme. This gave her the opportunity to refresh her expertise and build hands on experience in AI. She worked on live projects, developed in house solutions, and supported the global launch of an AI software platform. Today, she oversees the integration of technical and business objectives in an Agile environment for one of our UK retail clients, working across automation, infrastructure, and AI driven initiatives.

Ahead of their upcoming start in the Skills Lab, we welcomed 27 future consultants to our Hong Kong centre for an evening focused on getting to know each other and gaining insight into what’s next. Alumni, current consultants, coaches and account managers joined a panel to share their experiences and perspectives on the consultant journey, sparking some interesting conversations with the group. It was great to see such positive engagement throughout the session. Looking forward to the impact they’ll make 🚀

Not every strong tech hire comes from a traditional tech background. Ethan didn’t start out in engineering, but he’s now delivering real solutions on ServiceNow and adding value across a large financial organisation. His story is a reminder that with the right training and environment, potential can translate into real impact, quickly.

Last week, our Head of the Returners Programme, Sarah Mavius, joined over 100 senior leaders from business, government and the third sector to tackle one of the UK labour market’s most urgent challenges: an ageing workforce. The Leading the Demographic Shift event, hosted by Brave Starts, focused on what organisations can do in practice. With professionals aged 50 and over now making up a third of the UK workforce and the fastest growing group in employment, Sarah highlighted the importance of building an age-inclusive workforce.

Despite having a highly sought-after degree and applying for dozens of jobs every week, Daniel struggled to get his first role in the tech industry. Breaking into an increasingly competitive job market is a challenge many grads are facing today. Now thriving on our Software Engineering Practice, Daniel's story highlights why access and opportunity matter just as much as talent. Full story featured in @theipaper ➡️ bit.ly/4nkNH0D

FDM Hong Kong has recently collaborated with @HSBC Corporate & Institutional Banking Technology and Mission Plus on delivering an AI hackathon focused on practical outcomes. ⏳ In under five hours, teams of FDM consultants and HSBC engineers tackled real financial services use cases, moving from ideas to working solutions using agentic AI to accelerate progress. The outcome showed what’s possible when collaboration is designed with purpose. Structure, delivery‑ready talent, and specialist AI capability combined to generate tangible results in a short amount of time.
