Skill for the Human race, Swordsman class. This is still a dev version and may be changed later. Skills will be available in the Astryx World 4.0 update. The active skill progression system will work through nodes in our skill tree, and possibly also through reading special books. This video has expanded in scope to be a full cinematic and may actually be released in 3 episodes, not sure yet. Run time on full length is approaching ~8 minutes with distinct 1st, 2nd, and 3rd acts Now 3 different cinematics in production including this one. Still working on Ambush at Shattered Towers as well but waiting for a crucial mod update for that one. #Hytale

One of the features is game-changing for sure, we might need to ship it before Chapter 1, though, because it's a massive tech change and we need more testing! I'm working extra hours over the past few days to add another feature that will be massive in the long term. It's all about setting up the foundation atm. Things will look simple, but those who understand each vision will be really excited about the potential. By chapter 3 or so, we will have good momentum across the board. World Gen V2 full world is the one that will take a long time to complete, because we want to get it right. However, you will visit it frequently throughout the chapters, so you will gradually see the progression. Early Access will feel like a journey: the game and the story will evolve, and there will be a finale.

I will also talk more about how this system fits into the overall "World Scripting" extension of our upcoming Visual Scripting. Hypixel started with adventure maps and we want to provide the tools to bring unprecedented levels of adventure to Hytale.

ICYMI: Hytale’s Update 5 is out! We want to shine a spotlight on our new Trigger Volume Tool which allows you to place persistent 3D volumes that trigger configurable effects when conditions are met. Think of these 3D volumes as tripwires that are completely invisible to the player. However, when something happens inside of it (a player walks into it, a creature walks out, a block is placed, an arrow is shot, etc.) it will react by running a desired effect. Here’s a compilation from our Level Designers demonstrating what's possible with this tool. Not a single line of code was written to do this. 100% UI based scripting! 🤯

I wanted to create that animation to demonstrate what I can do with item interactions. You can try it with different types of weapons, including Dual Daggers, since I animated it with that in mind.

As promised, we’re sharing screenshots of some locations inside city Arenor. Here you can see: The Grand Tavern The screenshot shows the first floor, but the tavern has three floors in total. Inside, you’ll find several key NPCs who give quests. The cemetery outside Arenor’s walls From time to time, a brazier appears inside the crypt at the cemetery. If you break it, it will spawn a boss with valuable drops. This is a small activity we decided to add for players. It’s not meant to be anything huge, more like a mini-event. Later, we’ll post a video showing how it works. This is our first test of a new Hytale tool. In the future, we’ll use it more often to make events more varied, automate interesting activities, and add more gameplay for players. Wingbearer Station According to the lore, this station is used to train hawks that transport cargo and travelers. In the future, these stations will be used for travel between cities and key locations across the world of Astryx. Right now, you can complete a story quest there and buy a Hawk Ticket. You can see how it works in this post: x.com/AstryxWorld/status/204… We’re trying to minimize the use of commands, so instead of a regular teleport request command, we made a mod that lets players travel to each other by flying on a hawk. The Temple The temple is an important and beautiful location. Some key NPCs are located there, including in the library on the second floor. We’ll share screenshots of that later.
