Our four new electric single decker buses are out on the roads for the first time today! They're electrifying the X66 between Gateshead and the Metrocentre🚍️⚡️ Jonah, a five year old who loves buses and trains, had the chance to check out the new buses before they went out in service this week. They have his seal of approval - he rated them 11 out of 10!

After more than 30 years behind the wheel, Ken is retiring! 🚍️ Ken joined us back in 1994, after 17 years as a miner. Throughout his career, Ken has been for his caring nature and always going above and beyond for his passengers. At our staff awards last year, Ken was nominated for the Customer Hero Award after he bravely and discreetly handling a difficult situation on his bus. Ken, you will be greatly missed by everyone at Go North East. Thank you for your remarkable 31 years of service, we wish you a long, happy, and well-deserved retirement!💙

⚽️On Sunday 22 March, Newcastle United play Sunderland AFC at St James' Park. To facilitate road closures for fan safety there will be disruption to our services in Newcastle city centre between 10:00-11:15 and 14:00-15:15. It's likely there will be mixture of fans from both teams onboard our buses. Please remember to keep the rivalry on the pitch and remain respectful toward fellow passengers and our staff.

From 6pm this evening we will unfortunately be withdrawing Service 307 from Meadowell due to ongoing issues with antisocial behaviour and vandalism in the area. We are committed to serving the community and keeping services running wherever possible, however the safety of our drivers and passengers must come first. We will continue to review the situation this evening and aim to have services operating as normal again tomorrow.

Neil joined us earlier this year and has shared his experience as a newly qualified driver... 💛 I found the application process very straightforward! Instructions and communications were clear, and I was kept informed at each stage which I thought was a nice touch. 🚍 I had a fantastic and supportive instructor with 20 years of experience, who took the time to make sure I fully understood both the practical driving skills and theory behind the role. The step-by-step approach really helped build my confidence. 💛 The support from my mentor since receiving my license has been excellent too. From day one, he made me feel comfortable and encouraged me to ask questions. He's shared practical tips that you only really learn from experience, and I've been given honest, constructive feedback to help me improve. 🚍 It’s reassuring to know there’s always guidance available, and it’s clear they genuinely want you to succeed and become a safe, confident driver!
