A historic move for labor rights! Last week, a new ILO Convention on decent work in the platform economy was adopted by the International Labour Conference. The vote was 406 to 8, with 36 abstentions. The adoption of this Convention is a landmark moment, and it now needs to be translated into real changes in workers’ lives. There are always winners and losers in the @FIFAWorldCup. But everyone who watches the #WorldCup should know this story of a family cruelly separated when a father tried to take his 10 and 14-year-old sons to watch the @FIFAcom Club World Cup final at MetLife Stadium. He was arrested, held in Delaney Hall ICE detention center, and deported. His wife and children miss him terribly and wrote to President Donald Trump to “let our family be together again.” Reporting for @FRANCE24 by @lemasurierjess: france24.com/en/americas/202…

In a disastrous ruling, the Court of Appeal in London has overruled the High Court and upheld the government's decision to ban Palestine Action as a terrorist group. Defining a protest group as terrorists has created an absurd situation where thousands of people have been arrested for holding up signs. Learn more:

Thank you Congressman, we too believe Americans want to be welcoming to the World Cup teams & staff! Sports can be a unifying agent, or a way to 'wash' bad govt behavior, Let's do better, USA!
I’m proud America is co-hosting this year’s #WorldCup. It should be a moment of global unity. Instead Trump is denying entry to referees & athletes from countries he doesn’t like. I want the world to know: most Americans don’t think like him. This is not who we are.

🧵The Congolese government and international partners should prioritize community engagement and limit the role of security forces in responding to the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The government and its partners need to overcome years of conflict, abuse, and neglect that have strained healthcare systems and eroded trust and that risk complicating the Ebola response.
