Two Years Since Operation Arnon
Two years ago, YAMAM operators of the Israel Police’s National Counter-Terrorism Unit, acting on precise intelligence provided by the ISA, rescued four hostages from the heart of the Gaza Strip: Noa Argamani, Almog Meir Jan, Andrey Kozlov, and Shlomi Ziv.
During the operation, forces simultaneously raided two compounds where the hostages were being held, engaged Hamas terrorists in close-quarters combat, and successfully returned the hostages to Israel.
The operation was named in honor of Chief Inspector Arnon Zamora, who fell during the mission while helping save the lives of the hostages.
