Had a 5:30 am flight from IAH Houston, Tx. Heard on the news about the staffing shortages and long wait times so arrived at 2am. Had a work bag to check so got in line for ticket counter.
Counter didn’t open till 3:30 and moved well. Thought I was good.

Then the end of the security line was a 15 minute walk down into the subway system below the airport. Finally reach the back of the line around 4:05am. Minimum 2 hour wait to reach security.
No chance to make flight and rebooked. Luckily in no hurry and rebooking was easy.

If you really want to piss off tons of people and hurt quality of life/business this is a pretty good recipe. Feel bad for anyone having to use this airport today or next few days.
Completely unusable.

I keep reading and seeing people talk about the green speeds at oakmont being 14,15 and even 16 on the stimp.
This shows a clear lack of understanding on green speed and play speed. The slope of the greens at Oakmont is severe. Doesn’t allow for greens speeds that high.

Sad day. @JGstalker passed away today. Audrey was a dear friend and colleague that I lost touch with the last few years as my career took a turn.
She was integral in my growth as a coach in the early years of social media and can’t thank her enough for her influence on me.
