There is an undeniable power in a room full of women who are not just dreaming, but doing. I recently had the privilege of touring the Kenya Industrial Research and Development Institute (KIRDI) with the women of the Kenya Association of Manufacturers. Seeing the sheer potential within these walls was a powerful reminder: the barriers to entry for manufacturing—capital, equipment, specialized technology—are being dismantled by institutions like this. From exploring textile innovation and food production technologies to seeing the precision of sanitary pad manufacturing machines, I was struck by the possibilities for the next generation of women entrepreneurs. Manufacturing is the backbone of our economy, but it requires intentionality. It requires us to show up, to learn the systems, and to advocate for shared infrastructure that allows small businesses to scale. Let’s stop building in isolation and start leveraging the resources that exist to turn our ideas into industrial realities. #WomenInManufacturing #Industrialization #KAM #KIRDI #KenyaBusiness #WomenEntrepreneurs #ManufacturingGrowth
