We're at Valoilmiö in Hämeenlinna, Finland for the international premiere of Twist & Shine.
🌟 Not only that: for the first time ever, we have scaled up to a 20 sculpture installation – in the centre of Hämeenlinna Market Square. 😍🙌

ALT Outdoors, on a snowy night in Finland. A small chid in a snow suit plays with Twist and Shine, a glowing sculpture made of colourful, interconnected prisms that glow from the inside.
ALT A wide angle view of Twist and Shine in Hämeenlinna Market Square in the city centre. There are about 20 sculptures of different sizes, and dozens of people playing with them, surrounded by buildings.
ALT Two adults and a child are twisting a particularly large sculpture, working together by holding different parts of it while moving it into shape.
ALT A child approaches a structure composed of two large sculptures stacked on top of each other, creating a colourful, geometric wall. The lights are reflected in the white snow underneath them, and more glowing sculptures are visible in the background.
Open this weekend! 🌟 It's incredible to be part of this project and collaboration, which has turned into a year-long exhibition at the National Maritime Museum Cornwall.

ALT Laila and Nao are in a large room, indoors. Laila is standing at a table, holding up a contract as she speaks. A large metal bell sits on the table in front of her. Behind her, Nao stands silently by a second table with a large gong and mallet on it.
ALT About a dozen Players sit at a long white table. One Player stands at the head, gesturing energetically. Others lean forward, speaking, or holding their hands to their mouths. The clock marks 47 seconds left.
ALT A hand reaches to grasp the handle of the bell, which sits on the white table, framed by dramatic blue lighting.
🧊 The last performance of Arch in 2024 took place on the summit of Mt Philo in Vermont, USA. A perfect sunset, tricky build, & one of the strongest, most hopeful endings. 🔥 It was unpredictable, relentless & poignant.
🙏 Thank you @flynnbtv for this extraordinary opportunity!
ALT The summit of Mount Philo in Vermont, USA at sunset. A crowd of people, silhouetted against the light, watch as two performers walk towards an arch. It is about 2 metres tall and is partially built, made of two thirds concrete blocks and one third ice, supported by a wooden former.
ALT Three performers watch the arch build, singing continuously through the performance. Sunlight shines through the trees behind them.
ALT As the two builders near the top of the arch, they stack the last ice blocks in place. Nao lifts one with both hands, while Irene braces herself to receive it.
ALT Night has fallen and the arch stands completed. A fire is burning in an oil drum directly underneath it, as singers Aminita, Phil, Ellian and Kate stand vigil to one side of the arch. Hundreds of audience members sit and stand all around it, watching the ice melt.
I was delighted to advise @kaleider and help them with their game design for their new product: Absurdable! It's a card based social game where you have to persuade a judge in 20 seconds of an absurd scenario. Very funny!

🔥 The last stop of the 2024 Arch tour was Burlington, Vermont! 🧊 Show 1/2 was at @flynnbtv. Beautiful setting, new challenges, fantastic audience & Secret Singers... overall a gorgeous night. ❤️
Stay tuned for Show 2/2, the last Arch of 2024 (the site was truly breathtaking!).
ALT Indoors on a stage, Seth and Nao build an arch of concrete blocks and ice. To one side, four performers stand facing them, watching and singing. There is no scenery on stage, just the bare and industrial brick walls of the theatre. Lights are pointed at the arch, filling the space with shadows.
ALT A wider shot of the theatre. The stage is surrounded by two large, rich, and ornamental art deco panels, one on either side, and a tall cavernous ceiling. The fully built, freestanding arch is on stage, light reflecting on the ice.
ALT The remains of the arch on stage. Blocks of ice and concrete lie broken on the ground, as the fire underneath it swells. Three people silhouetted against the light stand watching and talking to each other.
We're headed to the last leg of the Arch tour at @flynnbtv! 💫 Meanwhile, here are some photos from @aarhusfestuge.
🔥🧊 Framing Arch in a light art context was a fascinating opportunity, and – we think – a beautiful success.

ALT Outdoors at night in a public city square. A crowd of people stand and sit around an arch made of concrete and ice blocks. A fire burns underneath it, melting the ice.
ALT Two performers are building arch while four more sing, facing them. Nao lifts a heavy, slippery ice block, while Seth bends his knees, bracing and reaching out to help her position it. Verity, Ellian, Phil and Aminita stand on the opposite side of the arch, watching them and singing.
ALT All of the blocks of the arch are in place. Nao sprays the structure with carbon dioxide from a fire extinguisher, preparing to remove the supporting former underneath it. Audiences crane their necks to look and film with their phones as the gas rises around the arch.
ALT Two audience members watch the performance, embracing and leaning against each other in the growing darkness.
Arch opens TONIGHT at @aarhusfestuge! 👉 The performance begins 20:30 and ends 22:30 (approx).
🔥🧊 In Arch, you are invited to watch as two performers attempt to build an arch made of concrete and ice, while a vigil of human voices sing continuously for 2 hours.
