It’s no wonder our bodies fell in love with sugar. It’s bliss-inducing sweetness and drug-like effects. It’s capacity to numb pain, energize us, and comfort us. What’s not to love about that? Our bodies learned well. They are so smart! They took good notes and noticed that sugar and flour, combined with fat and salt, turn processed foods into best friends. Always available, always comforting. Only… too bad about the unwanted negative side effects of our sugar consumption. Weight gain, bloat, depression, fatigue, diabetes, etc. But the good news is… Our bodies can learn to fall in love with whole foods too. Deeply, madly in love. Our bodies can love them as much as we ever loved our favourite sugar foods under one condition, we give them that chance. Your chance is here. We are now accepting registration for our upcoming 28-Day Kick Sugar Boot Camp. It will guide you through an entire month of eating ONLY whole foods. No sugar. Not one bite. (At least that is the goal.) This is an opportunity to unlearn your sugar story. To uncouple sugar from decades of associations with good times, good feelings, and relief. It is an opportunity to unlearn the belief that sugar is your friend. The truth is… sugar is your ‘frenemy’. It gives you a hug while stabbing you in the back. Not on purpose. It means well. It can’t help itself. It's sugar. That is what it does. If you want to discover for yourself the benefits and blessings of putting sugar on a time-out, this is your chance. The list is long… better sleep, improved moods, more energy, weight loss, and so much more. Together, we will let sugar pitch a fit in the corner for 4 straight weeks while we date broccoli, salad, blueberries, black beans or rib-eye. Just to see what life is like without it. How food tastes. How we feel. This boot camp is designed to show you just how pleasurable, satisfying and healing real food can be. The boot camp starts on Wednesday, June 12th @ 4 PM Pacific, 7 PM Eastern via Zoom. It will run for 5 Wednesdays in a row. All calls are recorded. When you join, you'll get access to: 💜 Daily Morning Messages: Start each day with motivation, insights, and success strategies 💜 Weekly Peer Support Meetings: Connect with others on the same journey. Ask questions, get support, have fun. 💜 28-Day Sugar Detox Manual: Your comprehensive guide to the boot camp. It outlines the foods and beverages to enjoy and avoid, meal plans, recipes, cleansing practices, and more. 💜 SANE Eating Protocol: Learn a simple, breakthrough protocol that can put sugar addiction into remission like nothing you may have experienced before. 💜 Sugar-Free Meal Plans: Function medicine-approved meal plans and recipes proven to 100% eliminate cravings, improve cardiometabolic health markers, and mental health outcomes. This boot camp has been described as the highest quality sugar-free support program on the planet (not my words!). Sure hope you can join us! It is life-changing. — Florence, The Kick Sugar Coach Sign up here: florencechristophers.com/28-…

New data from the Nurses Health Study (NHS II) suggest that a diet high in ultra-processed food and artificial sweeteners increases the risk of depression. According to the lead investigator, Andrew Chan, “Animal studies have shown that artificial sweeteners may trigger the transmission of particular signaling molecules in the brain that are important for mood.” Moreover, previous research has shown that artificial sweeteners may disrupt the gut microbiome and trigger inflammation, which in turn causes depression. This is known as the “inflammatory cytokine model of depression,” and it’s thought to account for at least half of depression cases. jamanetwork.com/journals/jam…
