Why does it take so long to install new faregates at MARTA stations?

⚠️ Rider Alert: Due to the I-285 closure starting now, Friday, June 5 at 7 p.m. through Monday, June 8 at 5 a.m., MARTA bus and Mobility customers should expect service delays and longer wait times caused by increased traffic on surface streets. The following bus routes will be most directly impacted: Routes 2, 3, 5, 14, 26, 42, 51, 66, 71, 73, 83, 84, 96, 115, 116, 117, 120, 165, 178, 184, 191, 194, and MARTA Reach Zone 304. Mobility, MARTA Reach, MARTA Rapid, and several bus routes will be impacted. Rail service will operate normally, but customers should allow extra travel time for station connections.
