The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance. Access to all other Claude models is not affected. I’m trying to find a truly venture scale startup idea that won’t be commoditized by Claude Code, and it’s pretty clear the “pure” software isn’t enough anymore and this is the thesis of @ineffablevc although I have not been as focused on investing going forward, startups MUST involve the physical world, sensors, complex processes that require nuance it is still difficult to translate into words And that still might not be a big enough moat for very long
