Our first whole-of-Asia-Pacific esports league is done & in the books.ย ย  Some things we learned at @OneQode :ย ย  - Users from places as far flung as ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ India, ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ USA, ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ณ China, ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ณ Mongolia, ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ Russia, ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ Philippines and ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ Australia can all share experiences in real-time (and at similar latency) on our infrastructure - It's possible to connect over half of the world's users in our APAC Central location and have competitive matches, in the most latency-sensitive gameย ย  - Ping differences don't matter as much when packet loss, jitter and network swapping are minimizedย ย  - There is a LOT of latent talent in the region who can benefit from these types of opportunities - If it works for esports, it can work for anythingย ย  If you're building anything which connects people or data across large distances, I'd love to hear more about it.ย ย  Chances are we can do something similarly transformative for your usecase.

When people ask why we built from scratch on our own international telco backbone...this is why.

People forget that much of AWS's underlying infra stack is 20 years old. Much of it is too big & too hard to change now. Ditto with other hyperscalers. Moving some workloads to more fit-for-purpose environments is entirely OK in 2025.

Step by step, @dhh and the Omarchy distro are eliminating every common pain point that's prevented people from adopting Linux desktop. Getting a newbie to set up a Windows VM has always been a hard sell. This is way better. Incredible stuff.

Omarchy 3.1 is going to ship with a Windows VM installer in the box. Fantastic way to run those few apps you can't get on Linux in their own workspace.

Many are sleeping on just how much of the value over this next decade is going to accrue in places that are 'non-traditional'. Infrastructure vs software. Developing world vs developed. Open source vs closed. Many others. There are asymmetries everywhere.

Think a lot of people are looking for a return to the simplicity & (relative) reliability of Claude Code we experienced the first few months after it launched. Yes there are a lot of new features in CC now, but the underlying experience feels increasingly inconsistent and cluttered. If Codex can solve that, get near feature parity *and* provide a decent context window, a lot will probably jump.

i have had the strangest experience reading this: i assume its all fake/bots, even though in this case i know codex growth is really strong and the trend here is real. i think there are a bunch of things going on: real people have picked up quirks of LLM-speak, the Extremely Online crowd drifts together in very correlated ways, the hype cycle has a very "it's so over/we're so back" extremism, optimization pressure from social platforms on juicing engagement and the related way that creator monetization works, other companies have astroturfed us so i'm extra sensitive to it, and a bunch more (including probably some bots). but the net effect is somehow AI twitter/AI reddit feels very fake in a way it really didnt a year or two ago.

The latest @bondcap trends report is an absolute treasure trove. Huge amounts of actionable data on AI and uptake. One of the most notable IMO is this one - look at some of the highest represented % markets! Developing economies, many with very low digital infra penetration by traditional cloud providers. India, Indonesia, Brazil, Egypt, Vietnam. Big shifts coming.
