100 years ago today, Gandhi was put in jail in India, then still under British rule. His crime: “Uttering or writing words exciting disaffection towards the government established by law.” Placed in solitary confinement, he used his time to write a children’s schoolbook.

Cycling to work is a good start to the day. As an MP, I often cycled to work, weather permitting. Today was the first time cycling to the office since I became Prime Minister in January 2021. Hopefully I can #biketowork more frequently in the summer.

A striking 80% of Dutch youth (age 12-17) cycle to places (school, park, shop, friend’s) at least three days per week.
This does not differ between males and females; each of whom spend an average of 150 minutes cycling per week.
