A New York Times investigation revealed that Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs), hired by employers and government programs to manage prescription drug benefits, have been underpaying small pharmacies. This practice has contributed to the closure of many local drugstores, ultimately benefiting larger PBMs, whose parent companies operate competing pharmacies. I literally cannot imagine a medical condition or illness I might have that would make me ask my doctor about a drug I saw on TV. I would assume my doctor would know better than the ad department at WeTV but I guess I’m in the minority here.

Another example of PBMs steering patients to their own pharmacies... We're glad #SCOTUS is taking this up. A 2020 NCPA survey found nearly 80% of community pharmacists had recently lost patients bc of unfair steering. CVS Health was most often the culprit. ohiocapitaljournal.com/2021/…

Congress can #EndSpreadPricing. That’s the shady practice when giant corporate middlemen (PBMs) charge insurance plans like Medicaid one price for prescription drugs and reimburse pharmacies a much lower price, keeping the difference for themselves.

Those who vehemently fight legal abortion but are uninterested in providing basic healthcare for pregnant mothers or needy children, who are unconcerned about refugee children or those lacking quality education with no hope of escaping poverty cannot really claim to respect life.
