Fake visas, high fees, and slave-like conditions in the host countries lead people into a vicious cycle of dependency and perpetuated poverty. Rajendra's goal is to empower people by exposing the dirty work of scam networks and informing migrant workers about their legal rights.

Rajendra's work shows how important information is, especially for vulnerable people. A whole industry has developed, exploiting the despair of workers, who are forced to find jobs abroad. #HumanRightsDay
Rajendra Paudel is a returnee migrant worker from Saudi Arabia and UAE, having lived there for over 8 years. Currently in Nepal, he works to provide aspiring and current migrant workers with information and training on personal finance, career development and business planning.
ALT A photo of Rajendra and his quote: "Technology has the power to transform the lives of migrant workers, offering access to education, financial tools, and their rights, no matter where they are. Through initiatives like the Bidesh Mobile App and digital literacy campaigns, we can bridge gaps in information, reduce exploitation, and empower migrant workers to thrive in foreign lands. Human rights must be accessible, and technology helps make that vision a reality."
His reach on Social Media is incredible. 436.000 people subscribed to his youtube channel (youtube.com/@rp.srijan) alone, where he posts content tailor-made for the necessities of migrant workers. #HumanRightsDay
ALT A photo of Nery with her quote: “We are sacrificing our human rights for today’s technological progress. Monitoring technologies, originally designed to systematically target Palestinian people, are now being openly discussed for use in border management and private prison systems, prioritizing profit over people. ALT A photo of two women, Mariana and Judith, with the quote: “As we face a global refugee crisis, governments of the global north are digitalizing the borders, effectively violating human rights through digital technologies. As human rights defenders we must respond accordingly -with the use of digital technologies- to make sure refugees and forcibly displaced people can overcome these digital barriers to access their right to international protection, while also protecting ourselves and others like us from the criminalization we face in an increasingly militarized context. The landscape for displaced communities and human rights defenders worldwide is tainted with lethal hostility, yet we stand organized and strengthened in each other's company.” Judith Cabrera, MTM Fellow 2024/2025
On this app, they are forced to share data and, oftentimes, stumble over technical glitches that make it impossible to file their request. At the #BorderlineCrisisCenter, they help people to maneuver through the process and support those who lack digital literacy. @BorderLinecris
