Good taglines make companies and products immortal. In culture and consumers. Diamonds are forever. Think Different. Finger Lickin' Good. But one of my favorites is Nike. I became a fan of Nike twice in my life. Once when I found it cool and nice to wear. The second time was when I understood "Just do it." - there is a certain ve connection in consumers' minds that tagline builds with the brand.

“If normal power corrupts—guess what superpower would do.” This is so cool, what a great pitch.
Where it all began: my first pitch for @TheBoysTV eleven years ago. Since then, hundreds of actors, thousands of crew, and millions of viewers embraced this insane idea. I'm grateful beyond words, and proud that all these years later, we stayed true to this mission statement. #FYC #TheBoys @PrimeVideo

The 3rd act of Disclosure Day had half of the theatre be like this. Beautiful film. At some points, it felt like Spielberg was just flexing with the camera movement and blocking, and rightly so.

There will be Hyperlinks for Taste. Taste will become an essential unit of value creation, as the rest gets replaced by AI. People will need to present their taste to the world, somehow. Abstract idea, but exciting. Also, something I have been pondering upon for couple months.
Hyperlinks to… ◆ apps = @vercel ◆ thoughts = @x ◆ time = @calcom ◆ knowledge = @perplexity_ai ◆ code = @github I'm a huge fan of "link products". Products that spread by motivating frequent link sharing. What links are missing?

Introducing Pool That little icon got us $2M in funding, 15M organic views, and now you can all finally discover what's behind it. Pool is "just an app for your screenshots." But it holds a few bets we decided to build a whole company on. We believe the context of the future is your camera roll. Understanding someone's taste, the texture of their life, can unlock things we can't even comprehend yet. We believe the future of interfaces will feel the way games make us feel, computing as a beautiful mix of art and technology. Now live on the App Store.

What’s happening at Sony Marketing team. Brand New Day trailer leaked. Continuity error in first ten seconds of Aaron Sorkin’s new film’s trailer. More than that, the edit is so bad that it is making Sorkin’s dialogues sound bad.
Every revolution begins with a reckoning. The Social Reckoning, a companion piece to The Social Network, is coming exclusively to theatres October 9.

The Social Network trailer had set a benchmark for trailers. And yes, if you’re calling it a companion piece to that film, there has to be that high bar in every aspect of the film, even trailer.

As per the press release, she 'died of sadness' from her husband's death. I thought that's a euphemism for suicide but turns out it is a real medical thing. Grief so strong that it weakens the heart muscles, and you literally die from a broken heart. It is just infinitely sad and I cannot imagine the pain she must have gone through. But I cannot help but see a glimmer of beauty in such a passing. Love can persevere so strong that it stays with you until you die. May she rest in peace. May she be united with her husband.
RIP Marjane Satrapi, the great cartoonist and film director, best known for PERSEPOLIS. She was only 56. A great talent. She will be missed.

Tech has a curious tendency to manufacture complexity. It insists upon itself the importance of work, rather than the actual contribution to the creation. Layering roles and processes until the work of managing work outweighs the work itself. After working with music directors and cinematographers, it seems there's something a little dispiriting about a culture where crafting slide decks and routing emails is someone's full-time, but very well-paying, job. They could get out of the system, and the work would still go on. On a set, if a lighting guy messes up an angle of a light, the whole shot is ruined. In some sense, everyone's contribution is tangible and grounded in actual craft. Artists have nothing to fear from AI. The existential air around "work" is most right now because, after AI, it's prominent how shallow so much of modern work is.

Great day for GenAI.
Martin Scorsese is an advisor to Black Forest Labs. He's spent six decades shaping how the world sees stories. Now he's helping us shape visual intelligence with human taste and craft at the center. We sat down with him for a working storyboarding session using FLUX.

There’s a beautiful film in theatres right now written by writer of Chernobyl and The Last of Us, produced by Project Hail Mary directors, with Hugh Jackman, and alongside the cast from Game of Thrones and Succession. The Sheep Detectives is a delight watch.
