So just what is @NaturalEngland now? As former HLS & HT stewardship thrown out at last renewal with zero explanation, told I'm not allowed to contact NE, it seems to me if you are not in a protected landscape & don't have a SSSI you are not interested. A blog on your remit please
False claims are circulating about Natural England's role on Dartmoor ponies. Dartmoor ponies are part of the cultural and ecological identity of Dartmoor. We have not recommended a cull. Read our blog for our role and position: naturalengland.blog.gov.uk/2…

Is it just me, or does the phrase 'in a deserted field' from @FT just scream the lack of understanding of the countryside? This field isn't deserted, it's farmed. @CLAtweets @NFUtweets
This absolutely should not happen as we know who it would be for.

OMG, apparently standing in a farm shop whilst announcing they are effectively going to subsidise foreign imports. You just couldn't make this up.
Over 100 everyday items will see targeted tariff cuts including bread, bananas and baked beans. Building on our Great British Summer Savings Scheme, this is the second package of support we are delivering to help ease pressure on family budgets.

Europe recognises this, but uk gov seems set on treating uk farming as the enemy, with blind confidence we will always be able to import food @Steph_Peacock. Europe looking to bolster home production of inputs, uk gov answer is to reduce sanctions on Russia and cap food prices.
🌾Food security starts with fertiliser security For farmers, fertilisers can mean the difference between a harvest and no harvest at all Across Europe, rising energy prices are ↗️input costs for farmers. This is not just a farming issue. It’s a food security issue for all of us

Is this so they look prettier when left hanging in hedges and on fences? Why the hell do you need pretty coloured poo bags...

Interesting comment heard by the footpath. "It's the farmers fault if their sheep get hurt because they put the sheep in a field where there is a footpath" Are they suggesting we should fence people out of the field and on the footpath?

Fabulous as this is, how is it that Barnsley schools are having to cancel school trips whilst Barnsley Council has a fleet of minibuses parked up waiting for the end of the school day. Surely it's possible to make them available, even if it's only for trips within the borough?
Great to be at the opening of our new Youth Activity Park today. A proud day for our Great Childhoods Ambition and for Barnsley’s future. Proud of the Barnsley we are building together.

Transport costs are prohibitive for school trips. An easy way for BMBC to support Great Childhood Ambition. Other councils do it.

I have just been told by my local MP that around half of farms in the UK are 20ha or below. I can believe this if we are talking land holdings, but farms? Can this really be true @CLAtweets @NFUtweets ? I suppose it depends on your definition of 'farm'.
