Throughout June, the
#OUA recognizes National Indigenous History Month, a time to honour the histories, cultures, traditions, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples.
This is an opportunity to learn, reflect, and deepen our understanding of Indigenous Peoples and their enduring impact on communities across Canada, while also serving as an important reminder of our collective responsibility to advance meaningful reconciliation through education, awareness, and action.
The OUA remains committed to fostering inclusive and respectful environments where Indigenous student-athletes, coaches, staff, officials, and community members feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.
We encourage everyone to engage with Indigenous perspectives, celebrate Indigenous excellence, and continue learning about the rich histories and cultures that have shaped our country.
