This unsafe condition has to stop. A private company is using a public roadway as their personal loading dock, endangering the lives of cyclists and all road users. They do it every day and have been for years.

Pedestrianizing a main street spine in central Reykjavík was controversial with businesses when it was first done, so they made it a summer pilot. They kept it that way for around a decade or so, and then went ahead & made it year-round and permanent. No big deal. People like it.

Canada’s two largest metros, Toronto and Montreal, see six trains per day in each direction that take a little more than five hours. Madrid and Barcelona are the same distance and see 35 trains per day each way, taking as little as 2 hours and 30 minutes. Canada deserves better.

The Ford government waived the 407’s $1B penalty rather than negotiate lower tolls that would ease congestion on the 401. Had the tolls been reduced, Hwy 413 would not be justified. However, look at who owns land along the 413.
