JJ Bleday vs Zac Gallen — matchup overview → Gallen vs LHB has been catastrophic on contact quality: 7th percentile Avg EV, 9th xSLG, 12th HardHit%, 13th xwOBA, 16th BA (.316 allowed!), 28th Barrel%. He attacks the zone (73rd BB%) so lefties get plenty of swings. Great American Ball Park stacks it (HR 24%, Runs 11%) → Pitch mix has multiple kill spots. Gallen throws Fastball 41%, Curveball 25%, Changeup 25%, Slider 9%. The Fastball is a piñata (.400 BA, .617 SLG, .454 wOBA against) and Bleday crushes fastballs at .308 BA, .846 SLG, .521 wOBA (78th–97th percentile). The Curveball also gets hammered (.338 wOBA against) and Bleday crushes curveballs (.495 wOBA, .778 SLG). The Slider (9% usage) is demolished broadly and Bleday absolutely destroys it (.357 BA, 1.071 SLG, .613 wOBA, 92nd–99th). Changeup is the only neutralizer → Bleday vs RHP elite power profile: 97th ISO, 96th HR rate, 96th xwOBA, 96th xSLG, 90th HR/FB%, 87th BB%, 87th HardHit%, 86th Barrel%, 76th BA.

B. Buxton vs Michael McGreevy — matchup overview → McGreevy vs RHB has been moderately hittable: 26th percentile HR/FB%, 28th xSLG, 34th Avg EV, 35th HR rate, 35th xwOBA, 37th Barrel%, 42nd HardHit%, 43rd ISO. He attacks the zone aggressively (75th BB%, just 5.6% rate) so righties get plenty of swings to hunt. Target Field plays roughly neutral → Pitch mix has a clear kill spot. McGreevy throws Sinker 41%, Slider 30%, Fastball 15% to RHB. The Slider gets absolutely demolished broadly (.391 BA, .783 SLG, .521 wOBA against) and Buxton crushes sliders at .224 BA, .551 SLG, .364 wOBA (58th–84th percentile). Sinker is the only real neutralizer → Buxton vs RHP elite power profile: 99th HR rate, 99th ISO, 98th HR/FB%, 95th Barrel%, 90th xSLG, 76th xwOBA, 74th HardHit%, 74th Avg EV, 70th BA.

MLB DISH OF THE DAY 🧑‍🍳 ⚾️ 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐓𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐑 𝟏.𝟓 𝐇𝐑𝐑 Cooked w/ @ThePropDen 🤝 LIKE IF TAILING ❤️ • Turang comes into this spot over in 8 of his last 11 games and gets a great matchup against Aaron Nola, who has struggled through 13 starts with a 5.86 ERA. Nola has been even worse against left-handed bats, allowing a 6.40 ERA, .311 BAA, and .396 wOBA to LHB. • Nola’s struggles vs lefties line up well with Turang’s profile vs right-handed pitching: 📈 .304 AVG 📈 .424 OBP 📈 .419 wOBA 📈 170.3 wRC 📈 98th Percentile BB% • Nola throws his curveball heavily to lefties, and Turang has crushed that pitch with a .524 AVG, .810 SLG, and .582 wOBA. Nola also mixes in the sinker around 20% to LHB, and Turang has handled that pitch too with a .438 AVG, 1.000 SLG, and .628 wOBA. If Nola leans on that curve/sinker mix, Turang has multiple pitches he can attack. • In their most recent matchup last season, Turang reached base in 3/3 plate appearances. He walked in the first, ripped a triple in his second trip, and followed it with a 1-run double. Nola had success against him before that, but the most recent matchup and current form both point toward Turang having a much better read on him now. • Turang is batting third with Christian Yelich and Jackson Chourio ahead of him, giving him RBI chances right away. Yelich brings a .351 OBP from the leadoff spot, while Chourio is slashing .301/.353/.503. Behind him, William Contreras and Jake Bauers give him a real path to score if he gets on, with Contreras carrying a .285 AVG and 43 RBI, while Bauers brings a .527 SLG with 13 HR and 46 RBI. • The Phillies bullpen is strong on the back end, but if Milwaukee gets to Nola early, Turang should avoid the toughest leverage arms in his first few trips. If he has not cleared by the middle innings, Philadelphia may have to bridge the game with lower-leverage options like Chase Shugart or a struggling Tim Mayza, which still gives him a workable late-game path. • Turang is getting on base at an elite clip, hitting righties well, and has already shown he can get to Nola. With this Brewers lineup around him, there are plenty of ways for him to get to 2 HRR here. M. Trout vs Griffin Jax — matchup overview → Jax vs RHB has been HR-prone: 10th percentile HR/FB%, 19th HardHit%, 20th Barrel%, 23rd HR rate, 24th Avg EV, 28th xwOBA, 28th xSLG, 35th ISO. He walks righties too (16th BB%, 11.9% rate). Environment helps as Angel Stadium plays hitter-friendly (HR 7%) with 10 mph wind blowing OUT to center → Pitch mix is more challenging than the surface numbers suggest. Jax throws Slider 40% as his dominant weapon (.091 BA, .227 SLG, .168 wOBA against, 44.2% Whiff) — Trout only modestly handles sliders (.328 wOBA, 37.3% Whiff). Sinker (31% usage) is hittable but Trout's results are average (.374 wOBA). The Fastball (17% usage) is a complete piñata (1.000 SLG, .595 wOBA against), but Trout's fastball numbers vs RHP aren't crushing it either (.391 wOBA) → Trout vs RHP elite top-to-bottom: 98th xwOBA, 98th xSLG, 98th BB%, 97th Barrel%, 94th HardHit%, 94th Avg EV, 88th HR/FB%, 88th ISO, 86th HR rate, 38th BA.

Y. Alvarez vs Noah Cameron — matchup overview → Cameron vs LHB has been HR-prone with loud contact: 6th percentile Barrel%, 15th xSLG, 18th ISO, 21st Avg EV, 26th HR rate, 30th HardHit%, 31st HR/FB%. He attacks the zone aggressively (89th BB%, just 4.5% rate) so lefties get plenty of swings to hunt mistakes. Kauffman Stadium plays HR-friendly ( 22%) → Pitch mix has a wrinkle. Cameron throws Fastball 32% and gets absolutely demolished broadly (.429 BA, .786 SLG, .520 wOBA against) — but Alvarez specifically struggles vs fastballs (.125 BA, .348 wOBA, just 11.5% Whiff). The Slider (23% usage) is the kill spot — Cameron allows .263 BA, .684 SLG, .380 wOBA against, and Alvarez crushes sliders at .320 BA, .720 SLG, .447 wOBA (78th–89th percentile) → Alvarez vs LHP elite top-to-bottom: 99th xwOBA, 99th xSLG, 98th HR rate, 96th ISO, 93rd Barrel%, 93rd HR/FB%, 91st Avg EV, 86th BA, 84th HardHit%.

K. Carpenter vs Tanner Bibee — matchup overview → Bibee vs LHB has been HR-prone with loud contact: 16th percentile Barrel%, 17th HardHit%, 18th HR/FB%, 19th HR rate, 19th xSLG, 19th Avg EV, 23rd ISO, 31st xwOBA. Lefties tee off when they make contact. Progressive Field plays slightly hitter-friendly (HR 12%) → Pitch mix has multiple kill spots despite a dominant changeup. Bibee throws Changeup 29% as his weapon (.140 BA, .233 SLG, .218 wOBA against, 35.9% Whiff). But Carpenter absolutely destroys changeups at .375 BA, .875 SLG, .550 wOBA (86th–95th percentile). The Fastball (27% usage) is hittable broadly (.262 BA, .476 SLG, .351 wOBA against) and Carpenter crushes fastballs (.406 wOBA, .606 SLG). Cutter (21%) is also vulnerable and Carpenter tags it (.484 wOBA, .692 SLG, .462 BA) → Carpenter vs RHP power-focused profile: 95th HR rate, 94th ISO, 94th HR/FB%, 79th HardHit%, 76th Barrel%. xwOBA (39th) lags because of swing-and-miss tendencies.

A. Pages vs Anthony Kay — matchup overview → Kay vs RHB has been catastrophic: 5th percentile xwOBA, 10th xSLG, 14th BA (.300 allowed!), 19th Barrel%, 21st HR rate, 22nd ISO, 24th HardHit%, 25th HR/FB%, 34th Avg EV. He walks righties too (24th BB%) — bottom-tier in nearly every metric. Rate Field plays hitter-friendly (HR 15%, Runs 8%) → Pitch mix has clear kill spots. Kay throws Fastball 28%, Slider 22%, Changeup 19%, Cutter 17%. The Slider is the primary target — Pages crushes sliders at .333 BA, .750 SLG, .460 wOBA (79th–89th percentile). The Cutter (17% usage) also gets hammered broadly (.350 BA, .550 SLG, .455 wOBA against) and Pages tags cutters (.415 wOBA, .800 SLG). The Fastball is hittable for everyone but Pages only modest against it (.289 wOBA) → Pages vs LHP solid power: 90th HardHit%, 88th ISO, 87th xSLG, 82nd xwOBA, 80th HR rate, 75th Avg EV, 71st BA, 70th HR/FB%, 70th Barrel%. He hunts aggressively (34th BB% — low walks = more swings).
