Last time, in 2023, our team (TUNIC) took home six awards, including Game of the Year. It was the worst event we'd ever witnessed.
Later, we sent a letter co-signed by 20 Canadian devs (and cc'd to CGA partners/sponsors), detailing shortfalls and calling for change.

Now, I fully recognize that *in the world right now*, this award show for Canadian Video Games is not that big a deal. I'm just looking to offer some perspective. If you're considering attending, just realize who's running this thing and what you might be signing up for.

Finally, truly, congrats to the nominees. I absolutely refuse to support this event under its current leadership, but these teams and individuals deserve all the accolades and more.
I can only hope that this year's show proves to be an adequate celebration of their achievements.

35 years after its release, @dogplayingtris just became the first person to get the NES Tetris rebirth. He made it all the way to level 255, then the game wrapped around and restarted from level 0.
