Whether it be painting, cleaning, washing, weeding or repairs, there's lots to get stuck into and we'd really appreciate any help that can be afforded. Held on alternating Saturdays and Sundays during June, the parties will be held from 10am through to 1pm and, as always, a bacon (or veggie alternative) butty and a brew is available to all helpers that come along. 𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗚𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗠 𝗙𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗦𝗘𝗗 We are delighted to announce the completion of our management team for the forthcoming season with the appointments of Richard Thomas and Stephen Ryan. Staying with the Rams for Rob Henry’s debut season in charge are ever-popular members of the backroom staff in Lewis Hindley and Tony Dunn, taking up their usual roles of Goalkeeper Coach and First Aider respectively. Joining the club as our new Assistant Manager is 43 year old Richard Thomas. A UEFA A License coach, Richard has previously worked in academy football with Preston North End and Blackpool as well as roles with the likes of Chorley, Lancaster City, Garstang and Squires Gate. One of Richard’s stand out achievements in non-league was helping Squires Gate to their joint highest ever North West Counties placing when they finished 6th in the Premier Division back in 2015. “I am delighted to join Ramsbottom United as assistant manager,” said Richard. “The club is in a strong position, with a very good group of players and innovative coaching staff. I look forward to getting started to improve on the already excellent work from previous seasons. “I can’t wait to meet everyone concerned with the club, especially ‘Rammy Ultras’ who I’ve already heard a lot about.” A person that requires no introduction though is Rammy Women’s first team manager Stephen Ryan, who also joins up with Rob’s staff as a coach for the season ahead. Another extremely popular member around the club, and the wider juniors set up, local lad Ste can’t wait to get going. “Firstly I’d like to thank Rob for giving me this opportunity and I’m so proud to be a part of his new management team and really excited for what’s ahead,” said Ryan. “It’s a fresh chapter, we have big ambitions and a real chance to help build something special together.” New Rams manager Rob Henry was delighted to complete his management group as the club look to put a hectic couple of weeks behind them and get ready for what promises to be a busy pre-season. “Tommo is a fantastic acquisition for the club, his coaching qualities and ability to work with players is second to none,” said Henry. “His experience and knowledge will be key to enhancing the group further and, with the addition of Ste Ryan and with Lewis and Tony staying with us too, I absolutely can’t wait to get started.”

Saturday 16th May with a 1pm kick off sees the annual charity football match between Haslingden St Mary’s and a Ramsbottom Select side, followed by the FA Cup Final. Raising funds this year for one of Ramsbottom’s own players Joe Dentith and his young family. Always a good day, always a good turn out and lots of fun. The bar and kitchen will be open from 12 noon. 🍺🍺⚽️⚽️

𝗠𝗢𝗩𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗗 After 60 years in charge, Ramsbottom United Chairman Harry Williams has decided the time is right to stand back. Having been instrumental in setting up the club back in 1966, and after what is probably a record-breaking spell as a football club chairman, Harry suggested that the time is right for a new committee to be formed to take the club forward. Former secretary Tony Cunningham explained, “Harry told me he was thinking of stepping back, and after 60 years at the helm, he has certainly earned a break”. “He then suggested we run the club with a new committee, and offered me the position of Vice-Chairman, with the aim of creating that committee. This has now been done, and we are all excited at the prospect of being able to guide the club over the coming years. “As for Harry, he will hopefully still attend matches, but now with the ability to enjoy the games without all the other duties which have restricted his viewing time for so long. “He has deserved to be able to sit in the sponsors lounge, enjoying a couple of ciggies and a couple of beers!” The new committee’s first move was to appoint popular coach Rob Henry as the new club manager following the retirement of former boss Steve Wilkes. Exciting times await for the Rams who have missed out on promotion over the last two seasons, bowing out on both occasions at the play-off stage. Hopes are high among the committee and supporters that Rob and the players will complete the job during the upcoming season.

𝗥𝗢𝗕 𝗛𝗘𝗡𝗥𝗬 𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗢𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗔𝗦 𝗥𝗔𝗠𝗦 𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗚𝗘𝗥 Ramsbottom United are delighted to be able to announce that Rob Henry will take over as our new manager following Steve Wilkes’ retirement at the end of last season. Rob, 38, holds a UEFA A license and joined the club last summer having previously worked as assistant manager at Lancaster City, FC United of Manchester and Bootle. That was all after a 450 game playing career in non-league for the likes of Lancaster City, Chorley, Bamber Bridge and Kendal Town, as well as a handful of appearances in Rammy blue back in 2018. With the club just missing out in the play-offs again last season, keeping some continuity after Steve stepping down was imperative as we look to hopefully go one better next season and a return to the NPL. “I’m delighted to be appointed as the new manager of Ramsbottom United F.C. following what has been a whirlwind few days,” said Rob. “I’m excited for the challenge ahead and to build on the momentum and foundations built last season. There is a real togetherness around the club, which has been evident over the past few days, and I’m looking forward to working closely with the players, staff, supporters and volunteers to continue driving standards forward and helping the team keep progressing. “My aim is to create an environment where everyone is aligned and working collaboratively towards the same goal – bringing continued success and pride to the football club.” We’re delighted to have you leading the Rams, Rob, and wish you every success in the seasons ahead.
