Today, the City of Kigali Vice Mayor in charge of Urbanization and Infrastructure, Fulgence Dusabimana, welcomed representatives from @risingacademies. Their discussion focused on enhancing learning outcomes in Mathematics and English for primary school learners across the city. During the meeting, the two parties signed a partnership agreement that will support over 52,500 students across 68 schools, and empower teachers and school leaders through the #RisingFaster Initiative — a proven approach to strengthening foundational skills. #KigaliYacu

📰 New publication! Our RCT of Rising Academies' FasterReading program in Liberia is now published in the Journal of Development Effectiveness. We evaluated an accelerated, phonics-based reading program across 74 schools in 10 Liberian counties for (7 years) early childhood education (ECE) students. On International Women’s Day, we proudly recognise and celebrate the extraordinary women who make us Rising. Inspirational women like Florence (pictured), who joined Rising in 2016 as a teacher, progressed to school leader and later became a coach supporting school leaders. Over the years, Florence has impacted the lives of hundreds of girls and young women across Sierra Leone. As a school leader, her female students would say:  “I want to be like Auntie Florence.” In her, they had a powerful role model of female leadership. A leader who is kind and joyful, as well as strong and determined. Florence is a force of nature, and she instills in all young people a sense of purpose and potential. For young women, she broadens their horizons and challenges them to imagine a bigger, bolder future for themselves. To this day, Florence’s former students continue to seek her guidance and advice: “I believe in giving voice to girls and young women, and empowering them to think beyond stereotypes - helping them to unlock their full potential and create brighter, more promising futures. Women are resilient, and I’m grateful to play this role impacting their lives”. Last week our Rwanda team hosted representatives from the @REBRwanda and @NESA_Rwanda to provide an in-depth session on the services, learning programmes and tools that Rising Academies offers. The meeting’s focus was on showcasing how Rising’s AI-powered solutions can enhance education by supporting students with personalized learning and help teachers with lesson planning, assessment automation and classroom strategies. The team provided live demonstrations of Rori (our WhatsApp chatbot math tutor), Zuri (our new WhatsApp Teaching Assistant), LearnLens and Bambai - highlighting their impact on learning and teaching and discussing ways in which strengthening collaboration between Rising Academies and implementing agencies (REB and NESA) can enable these innovations to be scaled effectively.
