i accidentally wiped out my sql server backup instead of taring it.
I ran this
tar -czvf sql.bak sql.tar.gz
instead of this
tar -czvf sql.tar.gz sql.bak
:(
good thing I had a backup of my bak.

Terrible UX by @1Password. There’s a maintenance right now but the app is prompting me to sign in out of the blue. Attempts failed due to maintenance. Causes unnecessary stress and anxiety. Would have been much better if it shows/mentions the maintenance status somewhere.

Definitely yuck.
Google is also doing a similar yucky thing with their Gmail iOS app. This dialog pops up when opening a link every time the app is updated. The app remembers who I am so it clearly is capable of remembering, they obviously do this deliberately.

They are injecting ads *into the Google Chrome download page* pushing their own browser 🫠
