Discounted early-bird registration for this year's @sabr convention ends 5/28. I just registered. I'll be giving a presentation on the economic history of ballparks. Never been to Cleveland before, and I'm looking forward to the baseball history tour. sabr.org/convention

It was a beautiful Spring day to attend @SABRChicago event to watch some college baseball between @UICFlamesBSB and @RedbirdBaseball at Curtis Granderson Field in Chicago. It was also nice to see "The Grandy Man" in attendance at the game and to wear my 1952T Mickey Mantle baseball card shirt. @sabr

Canadian-born Allan Simpson started Baseball America from his home garage in White Rock, BC four decades ago. We congratulate him on winning a 2026 SABR Henry Chadwick Award and founding one of the sport's essential publications about the minor leagues and college baseball.

Good taste alert 🚨 @sabr recognizes Allan Simpson with its Chadwick Award! Allan founded @BaseballAmerica in 1981, inventing the concept of prospects and draft coverage. He took it from niche to mainstream over time @jjcoop36 on Allan's legacy 👇 baseballamerica.com/stories/…

Love to see this. The prospects and draft coverage that is pervasive across baseball now? That is Allan Simpson's work. He founded Baseball America in 1981 to cover baseball development. College baseball, draft, prospects, minor leagues, international baseball. A visionary.

Terrific news! All of the prospect coverage we enjoy today pretty much grew from Allan founding @BaseballAmerica in his garage 45 years ago. I've never met anyone who loves every aspect of baseball as much as Allan, and I owe my career to him. Very happy for him!

If you grew up in a baseball-less pocket of America rooting for the Atlanta Braves, thank this man. My latest @SABR article revisits the game — 49 years ago this month — that birthed the “America’s Team” era. sabr.org/gamesproj/game/apri…
