This summer, 40 primary and secondary school teachers are taking part in a unique summer school to introduce filmmaking as a newly available subject in Scottish schools.
The two-week course represents a further step towards establishing Scotland’s first Film & Screen Curriculum.

As Scotland's schools start a new academic year, we're excited and proud to have been testing and evaluating @screenscots' Film and Screen Curriculum, which will allow pupils to study film as an expressive arts subject for the first time, with Hawick primary schools.

✨ Script Circle is back!
Franz Rodenkirchen and Françoise von Roy (Solace23) are returning to Edinburgh this autumn to host a workshop in Edinburgh between 30 September and 5 October 2024.

(3/3) Screen Scotland has partnered with @ScreenEdinburgh to deliver the fortnight-long summer school at @FVCollege’s Stirling campus.
This programme aims to equip teachers with practical filmmaking skills, enabling them to test a potential new school subject, “Film and Screen”.
The @edfilmfest will be joined In Conversation by the legendary Thelma Schoonmaker on Tuesday 20 August at 3pm, where she'll be discussing her outstanding career.

Alysia, Laura, Jack and Raisah were among the writers and producers at our Script Circle workshop earlier this year.
Solace23 will be returning to Scotland to host another workshop in Edinburgh, running between 30 September and 5 October 2024.
