This was an election where the Tories lost more than Labour won. I wish Keir Starmer luck and hope his government does good things and keeps in mind the progressive policies that won the Greens 4 seats, the Independents seats and got Corbyn those votes

While I'm delighted to see the back of the Tories, this election should remind us that our electoral system is not fit for purpose. It should not be possible to achieve a massive majority on a minority of the vote.

Denver gave homeless people $1,000 a month, no strings attached. A year later:
*45% secured housing
*Taxpayers saved $590k because of fewer visits to the hospital, jail and shelters
*People used the money on groceries, rent, hygiene, clothes and transportation
*Mental health improved and they could spend more time with their kids and grandkids
Amazing what happens when you give people a chance

The 45% figure is an average of all trial groups, not just the 1k/mo. The group that received only $50/month saw 43% find housing.

Using starvation as a weapon is a war crime.
We know that children in Gaza are dying of malnutrition.
As long as Israel continues to prevent aid groups and journalists from entering the most desperate areas of Gaza, we will not know the full extent of the famine there.
