I've been so encouraged spending the last six days with these six men who love The Church and desire to think deeply about how to better serve the people in it. I'm deeply thankful for the folks at @9Marks and for their work in helping pastors to build healthy churches, and I'm also grateful for our families who sacrificed a week of holding everything down so we could grow.

“What higher approval could a person enjoy than to know that what he or she has done is pleasing to God? Every Christian should have a passion to please God. We are to delight in honoring Him. It should be our greatest desire to please our Redeemer.” —RC Sproul

I wish I could somehow bottle up the cries and agony we heard that night and present it to folks and say, “This is what you’ll hear if you fail your congregation.” Listen to @MarkDever and @JonathanLeeman talk to @thomasjterry about shepherding after a pastor’s moral failure.

AI/ChatGPT will soon render the current education system obsolete. We need schools where kids will learn more than just information & skills (AI will be better on both counts). I want to send my kids to schools where the main outcome is something robots can’t replicate: wisdom.

Brother @Rgallaty - I saw the video of your sermon through the criticisms of other brothers. I’m so sorry they judged the illustration w/o seeing the beauty of your Gospel declaration. Please forgive us; may God make us slower and softer.

Amen!
As a young minister I aspired to do "great" things for God. But after years of watching friends burn out, fizzle out, and fall away from Jesus, my ambitions have been refined. Today, I just want to grow in my love for God and make it Home to see Him. Lord Jesus, hold me fast.
