Over 100 prospective candidates approached by DfT for the role of HS2 chair refused this attractive offer, but they did not apprach me. I wonder why! Was this too much of a poisoned chalice or where they not offered a knighthood or peerage as well?

From my Ukraine rail friends; UZ tries to provide passenger services on the liberated areas asap. Just recently UZ established multimodal service to Kupiansk in Kharkiv reigon using EMU/DMU/bus.

Rail ministers 'asleep at the wheel'! Failed HS2 has not had a chairman for a year, and failed Avanti WCML's MD has now resigned over lack of train services. Leaves DfT ministers responsible for these and other failures stil in charge - but for how long?
