Zahi Touma shares data from a subgroup analysis of the LASER study comparing anifrolumab (n = 354) vs RW SoC (n = 561) by baseline organ damage status in patients with active #SLE (N = 915).
• SDI = 0 at baseline: patients receiving anifrolumab accrued, on average, 0.430 fewer SDI points vs RW SoC over 4 years; p < 0.001.
• SDI ≥1 at baseline: patients receiving anifrolumab accrued, on average, 0.499 fewer SDI points vs RW SoC; p < 0.001.
• Compared with RW SoC, anifrolumab was associated with a 60.8% lower risk of new organ damage accrual over 4 years in patients with baseline SDI = 0 (HR, 0.392; p = 0.014) and a 46.0% lower risk in those with baseline SDI ≥1 (HR, 0.540; p = 0.109).
Anifrolumab was associated with lower organ damage accrual regardless of baseline damage status.
