GHØSTNΞT Trying to remain cautiously optimistic about the most powerful technology humanity has ever built. Ngl it's freaking me out a bit tho.

AI will probably do more for web accessibility than a decade of good intentions.

Apotosis /ap-oh-TOH-sis/ The programmed decay of data, noise, or excess information so that more valuable signal can survive. Apotosis opens June 12, 8am AEST. 1,000 digital artworks. Digital art that kills the noise to amplify the signal. This has been an art obsession for the past 9 months. Not just making images, but building the whole system around them: the visual language, the direction, the curation process, the website, the contract, and the mint mechanics. It began with more than 50,000 images and slowly became a collection of 1,000 works. The mint uses adaptive pricing, with a target average price of 0.025 ETH, and a 30-day sale period unless sold out earlier. 90% of primary mint proceeds go to a Reserve Wallet, intended to acquire and retire underperforming works from the collection. The idea is simple: selective loss makes the surviving body of work clearer, rarer, and stronger. That is why this needed to exist. It is not only a collection of images. It is a programmed curation cycle. A digital art organism shaped by creation, selection, decay, and survival. I’m proud of that. Not because it was easy, but because it wasn’t. Now collectors begin the next pass. Filter. Eliminate. Amplify the signal. apotosis.mankind.art

The most interesting art of the next few decades won’t come entirely from humans or machines. It’ll be whatever happens when the two start messing with each other.

If someone is forced to say something is not art then it's almost certainly art

Man the “use AI for literally everything” people are just as annoying as the “never use AI” people

A lot of people are deleting their replies but this might be the most important post in the current AI art debate. It's like an inverse turing test and humans are failing

i just generated an image in the style of a Monet painting using AI please describe, in as much detail as possible, what makes this inferior to a real Monet painting

AI coding everything means it's the perfect time to build insane stuff The world doesn't need the 10,000th todo list app or "productivity dashboard" It needs the completely unhinged thing only you could make

As a dev one of the greatest things I've witnessed over the past few years is watching friends like @GTSewell, @_opticnerd_ and @II_Cable_II (to name just a few) make extraordinary things once the tools finally became accessible. Democratized creativity is one of the most important shifts of our era.
The quality of animation you can create on your own is truly amazing. We really are just limited by our imaginations at this point. Go tell your story! Made in @runwayml in a few hours and a handful of gens.
