Today, Vision Australia was proud to join @SenCarolBrown and @billshortenmp to announce that all electric, hybrid and hydrogen fuel cell cars, trucks and buses will be required to be fitted with an Acoustic Vehicle Alerting Systems (AVAS) from November 2025.

Transport for NSW is developing a strategy to improve accessibility across the NSW public transport system for people with lived experience of disability, and they want input from people with lived experience to share their thoughts via a survey. [1/3]
The survey is open to all people over the age of 16 years across NSW, including those with a disability, carers, family members, representative organisations, community members and workers in the disability sector.
The survey will be open until Friday 17 November, 2023. [2/3]

Vision Australia has been made aware Disability Support Pension recipients may have recently received correspondence from Centrelink regarding employment income details. [1/3]
Vision Australia has held discussions with Centrelink and the Office of Bill Shorten, Minister for Government Services, on behalf of the blind and low vision community and can advise these letters were sent in error. [2/3]
