A lot of folks have asked about how you'll be able to distinguish between @TwitterBlue subscribers with blue checkmarks and accounts that are verified as official, which is why we’re introducing the “Official" label to select accounts when we launch.

After this feature briefly launched on November 9, 2022, Elon Musk announced it was canceled and being rolled back. He then stated that the Twitter Blue checkmark would be the only "verification" badge.

The correct lens is: this is a reality TV show of first-time social app founders and it should be consumed as a comedy.
