Your take is totally fair. If NFTs are just “art you stare at”, it can feel pointless. But NFTs don’t have to be wall art. The useful version is way simpler: an NFT is an onchain pass / receipt that proves you own something
That unlocks real utility:
access (beta features, gated communities, special drops)
rights (proof of membership, tickets, licenses, status)
perks (fee discounts, reward boosts, priority support)
portability (you can move/sell it anytime, and ownership is verifiable onchain)
So yeah - if it’s only “jpeg hype”, we’re bored too 😄
But as a clean tool for access perks verifiable ownership, NFTs actually make sense
