Valentine was an amazing campaigner who did so much to support communities in #Nottingham. Our thoughts and prayers are with Valentine's family and friends and her colleagues at @MojatuF .
Deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Valentine Nkoyo, an inspiring campaigner for the rights of women and girls. I learned so much from her. Thanks to her work with @MojatuF, Nottingham became the first UK city to declare zero tolerance for FGM. Her legacy will live on.

Full council remembers Dr Rose Thompson and Leonie Meikle who sadly passed away. Dr Thompson was a champion of health equality and cancer support services. Leonie Meikle worked in education and was formerly the City Council's Head of the School Governors Service #FullCouncil

Great to be involved in this! We desperately need to reset the narrative on inflation and public sector wages
WATCH 📺: What is inflation and how do we fight it? Inflation has been a key topic of discussion recently but what is inflation and what does it really means for teachers, parents and pupils. Watch economist Dr Faiza Shaheen explain how inflation is impacting our schools and how the @NEUnion is challenging the Government on this issue. #SaveOurSchools

This is excellent BUT (and you knew there would be a but…) I desperately hope this comes alongside an ambitious grant programme for local authorities to build social housing. If it does, I genuinely think this could be transformational. theguardian.com/politics/202…

As the government whips up anti-migrant hatred, remember: Not only is our country richer economically, socially and culturally because of migrants, but their worth isn't determined by these contributions. Migrants are people, and that's why we stand in solidarity with them.
