Hey Damilare, I think you’re misunderstanding how this works a bit.
The Solana Foundation is a not-for-profit set up, among other things, to manage and allocate resources generated from the growth and activity of the Solana chain itself.
Solana has been heavily revenue-focused and generated about $1.5bn last year, compared to Base’s roughly $100m. That creates a very different economic reality.
Even without touching its token, Solana can comfortably allocate 5-10 times more towards global ecosystem growth than Base can, and still be more profitable.
And when you look at Africa specifically, Solana currently has more users, more integrations, more developer traction, and more onchain activity across the region. Naturally, that also means more economic activity and revenue flowing through the ecosystem here.
It’s also why our focus at SuperteamNG has consistently been around ICMs and products with solid revenue paths, not just narratives.
If the ecosystem wasn’t creating real value and real economic activity, communities like ours would not have survived this long.
