AHSAA South Alabama Athlete of the Week presented by Scout Program Management - scoutpm.com Whitney Harrington - Sweet Water High School Harrington put up great offensive and pitching stats for Sweet Water High School in 2026. Batting average: .535 OBP: .595 RBI’s: 50 Pitching: K’s: 127 to only 11 walks. 127 Strikeouts, only allowing 11 walks.

AHSAA Female Athlete of the Week presented by Drive Safe Alabama - Buckle up every trip, every seat! Anleigh Wood - Wicksburg High School Wood finished her sophomore season with outstanding all around numbers. She batted .588 with a .661 on-base percentage, collecting 80 hits, 72 runs scored, 57 RBIs, and 20 doubles. Wood also hit a staggering 27 home runs, establishing herself as one of the nation’s most dangerous hitters. Her remarkable power numbers made her the nation’s leading home run hitter in the Class of 2028 and left her tied for second overall in the nation regardless of class. Wood helped lead Wicksburg to a fourth-place finish in the AHSAA Class 3A State Tournament. Her final home run of the season was especially memorable, as it marked the 50th home run of her high school career. She also surpassed the 200-hit career milestone during the season, adding another achievement to an already impressive sophomore campaign.

AHSAA Lake Martin Area Athletes of the Week presented by Satterfield Outdoor Living and J.R.'s Sports Bar and Grill Bryce Rich and Grant Sheffield - Benjamin Russell Anglers Rich and Sheffield won the individual state championship at the recent high school state fishing championship on Lake Eufaula. They finished the two day tourney with 35 lbs... 9 lbs better than the runner ups. Their strong performances helped lead Benjamin Russell High School to the overall team state championship.
