The Bath Record Office provides the Archives & Local Studies Service for Bath & North East Somerset. Historic documents from the 14th century to the present day
It’s that time of year again when @EnglishBSU come to visit to see our goodies - sorry, special collections books. From Schedel to Kelmscott they get to see quite a range of material @BathSpaUni
#RemarkableBooks is still keeping us busy as we set up a shortened online version of the exhibition- which needs a whole new set of photos!
Do you recognise any of these from the cases on display?

The Big Book has been dismantled, the movers have taken the cases back home and the books are safely back on their shelves.
I enjoyed #RemarkableBooks though it’s a shame it was such a short experiment.
Sadly it’s all now gone 😢 - our #RemarkableBooks exhibition is over. Thanks to all the staff and #volunteers who made it such a success.
Ih, and the hundreds of visitors who dropped by to admire our books 🤩
Because we’re all working so hard for the #RemarkableBooks exhibition, the office will be CLOSED for the next two weeks (Mon 23 June-Mon 7 July)
We will be taking bookings for appointments Tuesday 8 July onwards.
We will keep an eye on the email and the phone though. ☎️
Thank you to @Samanthahharvey for presenting us with a copy of her Booker Prize-winning novel ‘Orbital’ for our collections.
The copy will be on display as part of our selection of Women Authors celebrating female writers in with Bath. Including Jane Austen. #RemarkableBooks
