The Nasdaq-100 changed its rules to make it easier for certain large IPOs to enter the index. Instead of waiting 90 days, some can now be added after just 15 trading days with a much smaller public float. Whether you think the change is good or bad isn’t my point. The point is that the rules changed. That’s how most institutions work. The rules exist until the people in charge decide they should be different. This is one reason why I’m a Bitcoiner. The supply schedule is known. The issuance schedule is known. The rules are known and can be verified. Nobody gets special treatment. I value systems where the rules are known in advance and can’t be changed out of convenience or to benefit those at the top.

Most people are “price” maxis. I’ve always seen Bitcoin as a parallel economic system. A distributed ledger that allows anyone to verify ownership without trusting an intermediary. Obsessing over the dollar price feels strange. Why measure a trustless system through the lens of a system built on trust? Unit of account is the final boss.

The best ideas have a way of changing how we see the assumptions we have carried.

I see a tool that helped me question things I never thought to question before.

At this point in the week, I’d accept literally any sign from the universe. Happy Hump Day.
